GMR

What’s there not to love? Love is a four-letter world named Cebu.

GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) proudly shares the fresh and new corporate identity for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), just a month away from its terminal operations takeover in the country’s second busiest gateway.

The brand launch, held in the MCIA MIP Lounge, introduced the company’s mission of being relevant to Cebu, and to its domestic and international traveling community.

The GMCAC brand image is firmly tied to Cebu’s much-envied global reputation as a resort destination.

The logo is presents the best of what is in Cebu – eleven elliptical shapes inspired by the ‘bangka’ or paddleboat, the same inspiration for the graceful arches of the envisioned airport terminal building. The shapes represents – food, culture, arts, history, beliefs, and people of Cebu. Its color reflects Sinulog colors yellow, red, and orange hues.

The logo represents GMCAC’s commitment to project the MCIA onto the world stage, carving its niche as a destination delivering an experience like no other. With its tagline “Start Here”, it evokes beginnings, happy vacations, fun adventures, and memorable experiences.

Passengers can expect an improved service in the existing terminal, T1, upon GMCAC’s takeover of the airport operations on Nov. 1. Facilities will also be upgraded including an airport village with extensive retail and entertainment options, six contact gates, triple-level in-line baggage screening, four baggage carousels and fourteen escalators. Construction of the second airport terminal, T2, begins in January 2015.

A total overhaul of the T1 is planned after the completion of T2. With expanded infrastructure, MCIA will increase its annual passenger carrying capacity to 12.5 million, up from its present 4.5 million.
