Police officer shot dead in front of son in Minglanilla town

ParagesAn off-duty police officer was shot dead in front of his five-year-old son by three unidentified gunmen in barangay Lower Lipata, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu Sunday afternoon.

PO2 Omar Parages held his son’s hand when a bullet went through the left side of his face and he sustained two more gunshot wounds in his chest that killed him. Witnesses said the suspects fled on foot after committing the crime.

Senior Insp. Richard Gadingan, Mingalnilla police chief, said they are still trying to figure out the motive of the murder.
