About 12 were injured when a trailer truck  collided with an Elf truck at the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, Wednesday morning.

The elf truck driven by Armando Asentista carried 11 workers bound for Cordova town. The vehicle was hit on its rear by a trailer head truck that slammed into a  center island before rolling thrice.

The trailer truck driver identified as Emiliano Cuenco said he avoided a passenger jeepney who suddenly cut across his path.

The passengers who were mostly landscape workers of a hotel in Cordova town were thrown out of the truck and sustained various injuries. They were brought to Lapu-Lapu City Hospital and Mandaue District Hospital.

One woman was believed to be in critical condition. Motorists are advised not to use the Marcelo Fernan Bridge at this time due to an oil spill from one of the trucks. Heavy traffic is seen all the way to the Mandaue City District Hospital.
