A 33-year-old soon-to-be father died in a vehicular accident in Mandaue City yesterday noon.

Wendell Uy was on his way to Cebu City when he was hit by another motorcycle  driven by Rodulfo Sinadjan, 65, which was on the  opposite lane.

Uy fell to the ground and an oil tanker on the other lane driven by Dante Dagohoy ran over his body which caused his immediate death.

His pregnant wife, Cathy, was speechless when she arrived at the accident area and just stared at her husband’s body.

Sinadjan, on the other hand, sustained injuries and was taken to the Mandaue City District Hospital.

Meanwhile, the head of the traffic group of Mandaue City, Edwin Ermac asked motorists, commuters and the public to bear with the current traffic situation of the city which is caused by the drainage project from A.S. Fortuna St. crossing  M.C. Briones St. to A.S. Fortuna Extension.

Enforcers are deployed to man the traffic and guide motorists to alternative routes.

The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.
