CCPO gives tips to avoid motorcycle theft

Because of the increasing number of motorcycle theft incidents, the Cebu City Police Office CCPO is spreading information on how to avoid being victim.

CCPO Director Senior Superintendent Noli Romana said owners must be vigilant on areas where they park their motorcycles.

Chief Inspector Enrique Belciña, Police Community Relations chief, showed the media how motorcycles are stolen.

He advised owners to double lock their motorcycles and add more lock on the disc brake or put a chain with a padlock to deter thieves.

As of January 1, 2014 until October 31, 2014, a total of 262 motorcycles were stolen in Cebu City, while 22 other vehicles were also stolen. So far, 27 persons were arrested for the crime.
