The Philippine government has tapped Asian Carmakers Corp. (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW cars in the country, as its official premium mobility partner for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in 2015, the company announced recently.

ACC is expected to deploy over 200 BMW 7 Series and BMW 5 Series luxury vehicles to transport heads of states and other dignitaries from 21 countries during the summit and related meetings.

“We are one with the government in all its efforts to stimulate economic growth in the Philippines and the region. As the preferred premium vehicle provider for APEC 2015, we hope to contribute to this endeavor by ensuring a positive experience among delegates with the safest and most efficient vehicles in our portfolio,” ACC president Maricar Parco said in a press statement.

A memorandum of agreement was signed between ACC and key government and other officials — Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario, APEC Director General Mariano Paynor Jr., and APEC-National Organizing Committee Private Sector Co-Chairman for the National Competitive Council Guillermo Luz—to seal the partnership.

The Philippines will play host to the APEC Summit in November 2015. This gathering aims to promote a healthy economic landscape by addressing opportunities and challenges in the Asia Pacific region and the world.

To support this mission, a series of meetings on trade and investment liberalization, business facilitation, and economic and technical cooperation will be hosted in select venues across Metro Manila and the Visayas.

ACC played an integral part in recent major gatherings, including the 23rd World Economic Forum on East Asia held early this year in Manila and 45th Asian Development Bank Annual Governors’ Meeting in May 2012.

As the official premium vehicle partner for both events, ACC provided a fleet of BMW sedans for visiting heads of states as they discussed issues on economic and social progress for Asia and the Pacific.
