Barako Bull keeps Blackwater winless

The Barako Bull Energy Colas pocketed their third win after dismantling a listless Blackwater squad, 97-82, last night in the 40th PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The Energy Colas picked up their third win in nine games, recovering from a 106-122 blowout loss to the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters last Sunday.

The win also boosted Barako Bull’s playoff bid as it moved up to eighth spot in the team standings.

Two last teams in the team standings after the initial round will be eliminated.

Blackwater will be the first team to be eliminated from the playoff race as it tasted its ninth loss in as many games. It won’t be able to climb out from the bottom two even if it wins its last two games.

Guard RR Garcia led the way for Barako Bull with 16 points. He scored 11 points in the first half to power his team to a 41-30 halftime.
Carlo Lastimosa also finished with 16 points for Barako Bull, while Jake Pascual chipped in 13.

Bryan Faundo was the lone bright spot for Blackwater after he tallied a career-high 23 points apart from pulling down 11 rebounds.

Put to naught was the solid game of guard Brian Heruela.The stocky guard fired  a career-high 19 points and added six assists and three rebounds in just his third game with Blackwater after being relgated to the inactive list.
