Corals, lumber seized in Punta Engaño

Authorities seized close to a thousand corals abandoned along  the shore  of barangay Punta Engaño in Lapu-Lapu City Thursday evening.

Task Force Kalikasan led by PO3 Kent Lisen went to the area after a concerned citizen tipped them off.

Four gallons of formalin were also recovered.  The chemical was believed used in bleaching the branching corals.  Eight  pieces of lumber to be used as boat keel were also found.

Nobody came forward to claim the items which were turned over to the City Environment and Natural Resource (Cenro) of Lapu-Lapu City for proper disposal. PO3 Lisen and his team will try to trace the owner.
