Homegrown tourism-anchored retail chain will open at least 12 more outlets under their different brands next year.

Jay Aldeguer, Islands Group president and chief executive officer, said they will continue to expand their two brands — Islands Pasalubong Center and Islands Souvenirs and will open the first spin-off of the Islands Pinoy Deli

Aldeguer said they have seven Islands Pasalubong Center in the country including the recently opened branch in Manila.

“We will add at least four more Islands Pasalubong Centers in Luzon by the first half of next year including one in Quezon City, two in Makati City and one in Alabang City,” he said.

He added that in Cebu they will also add at least five more next year.

For each store, the company is set to invest P8 to P10 million.

With an overwhelming market response from the buyers in Cebu after they introduced the Pinoy Deli section in some of their Islands Pasalubong Centers, Aldeguer said they will be spinning off the brand and will open the first Islands Pinoy Deli at Banilad Center Cebu by January next year.

He said that the outlet will feature the same products that they have in the deli section in their Islands Pasalubong Centers like sapin-sapin, maja and biko.

Their flagship brand remains a strong market player with 108 outlets.

“This year, we added outlets in six new destinations including General Santos, Coron in Palawan, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, Butuan, Bacolod and Iloilo.”

He said they will be adding one more branch in Laoag and Zamboanga by first quarter of next year.
