IT’S THE TIME of the year for runners to converge in Danao City for the annual Halad Kang Mano Amo Run, which will be held this Sunday at the Durano-Macapagal Boardwalk.

This edition serves as the footrace’s 36th year of existence, making it one of the oldest  in Cebu.

The race is held every December to pay tribute to Danao City’s grand old man, Ramon “Mano Amon” Durano Sr.

Mano Amon is also the founder of this running event, which aims to encourage Danao City’s residents to engage in sports.

Registration is going on at the Office of the City Administrator at the City Health Complex in Danao City.

This year’s race will feature 12-kilometer, 6k and 3k categories.

The 12k is for open to all runners while the 6k is for collegiate, high school and Danao City hall employees. The 3k is for the Danao City’s elementary students.

The organizing team is once again headed by Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez  with the support of Danao city government and the Danao City Sports Commission.

Cash prizes will be given out to the winning runners in each distance.
