BETTER EVERY YEAR

Halad ni Amon Durano

With the success of the 36th edition of the Halad Kang Mano Amon Run yesterday, not only the runners were satisfied.

Around 700 runners from different parts of Cebu joined the annual running event that started at the boardwalk of Danao City, North Cebu and pays tribute to Danao City’s grand old man, Ramon “Mano Amon” Durano Sr. whose birthday is on Dec. 24.

Also present was Vice Mayor Ramon “Red” Durano VI, who fired the starting gun of the race.

Durano said he is proud of how this running event has progressed throughout the years.

(Before, this running event only had short distances. Now, we offer longer distances because a lot want to run long distance, especially the youth here in Danao. We’re happy that’s why we will continue supporting this race in years to come.)

According to Durano, the race has become very popular to Cebuanos especially since it is one of the longest running races in Cebu.

(People already expect this race every December. For me, this has become an institution for runners and athletes in Cebu because this has been here for quite some time and is still here until now.)
