Four kids were found dead in an abandoned swimming pool in a hinterland barangay in Tabogon town, northern Cebu, Sunday evening.

The kids sneaked in a secluded rest house in barangay Labangon and jumped in to the swimming pool where they were found lifeless at 7 p.m.

The victims were identified as Mary Ann Prescillas, 10 years old, and her six-year old brother Ronel and their cousins Negene Montuerto and Nelyen Humao-as Mandaue, who are both eight years old.

Police investigators said the owner of the house, Marvie Subing-Subing and Aussie husband, were in Australia when the incident happened.

The kids were neighbors and left their homes past 5 p.m. to play and gather guava leaves. Their parents’ didn’t know they were headed up the hills where the rest house was located to swim.

PO1 Jesus Suan said the pool has been filled with moss that caused it to be slippery.

It was 7 p.m. when their parents started looking for them and they found their children dead. Their clothes were found at the poolside.

The victims were immediately brought to Severo Verallo District Hospital in Bogo City but were declared dead on arrival.
