JAN GODFREY Seno barged into the semifinal round of the premier 18-Under Boys division of the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala Regional age-group tennis tournament last Thursday at the GSIS-ECO 2 and 4 Tennis Club.

The 15-year-old Seno, the 4th seed in the 18-under division, defeated 6th-seeded Lordrens Pacheco, 6-1, 6-1, in their quarterfinals encounter to book a semifinal seat.

The San Carlos University-Basic Education Dept. student Seno of Bogo City, north Cebu, earlier blanked Ralph Oliver Ganotise in the second round, 6-0, 6-0.

Seno is set to face Christian Fel Lopez in the semis. Lopez had to dig deep before outlasting 7th-seed Jaffary Cariga, 2-6, 7-5, 10-8.

Seno and Lopez will face each other today after their semis game yesterday was cancelled due to bad weather.

In the 16-Under Boys division, the 8th-seeded Seno also advanced to the quarterfinal round after scoring another lopsided victory over Derwin Merca, 6-0, 6-1, in the second round.

Seno will be facing the winner between third-seed Janus Ringia and Jaffary Cariga.

Also making it to the quarterfinal round in the 16-Under division were Jyle Cyrin Martinez, who registered a 5-4 (3), 2-4, 11-9 win over Lordrens Pacheco, and Menard Badal, a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Ralph Oliver Ganotise.

Martinez is awaiting the winner of the Jeff Bucao-Jarel Edangga face-off.
