A cigarette vendor in barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City was shot and wounded by a man who blamed the vendor for introducing him to a woman who gave him a sexually transmitted infection.
Antonio Banguiso, 32, was shot in the back.
His attacker, Cerwin Jagonos, was arrested by police after the incident.
Jagonos, a native of Nasipit, Butuan, said he got ill after having sex with a woman whose service was brokered by Jagonos.
Jagonos paid P2,000 for the sexual encounter.
He met the vendor again early morning yesterday and pretended that he was looking for another woman.
While the two men were talking, Jagonos drew a gun and fired.
Jagonos was arrested by PO1 Junrel Dublin and PO1 Mark James Mendez, who happened to be on beat patrol in the area.
Dublin said they were about 10 meters from the two men when the attack happened.
Jagonos tried to escape but was cornered by the two policemen.
Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol from Jagonos.
