ONE THOUSAND runners will take part in tomorrow’s “Kaplag Run,” which starts and finishes at the Plaza Independencia in downtown Cebu City.

The running event will serve as the opening salvo of the 450th anniversary celebration of the finding of the image of the Sto. Niño de Cebu.

The running event, which will offer 12-kilometer, 6k and 3k distances, will carry the theme “Dagan alang sa Paglaum sa Katawhan, Señor Santo Niño.”

Veteran race director Joel Baring will handle the footrace, whose route will include the South Coastal Road.

There will still be an onsite registration before the race for those who still want to join. Gun start is at 5 a.m.
