The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Cebu Council held its 68th council meeting last March 14 at the Gallery Hall of Ayala Center Cebu.

BSP Cebu Council chairman Hernando Streegan said the theme of this year’s activity “Character counts” was focused on the virtues of integrity, discipline, love and compassion, which the scouting movement promotes.

The affair was attended by District Scouting leaders from all over the province, including Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, who represented Gov. Hilario Davide III, who was in Japan for an official trip.

Guest speakers were Christian Lauron, CPA, an outstanding Boy Scout awardee during his youth who is now a senior partner in Sycip, Gorres, Velayo (SGV) & Company, and lawyer Wendel Avisado, senior vice president and acting secretary general of the BSP. Avisado challenged all scout leaders to do their best for the development of the youth.

Streegan has been the chairman of the council for the last 15 years.
