The Cebu Provincial Board approved a resolution requesting all local government units (LGUs) to issue directives to barangay captains to  conduct regular inspections on all Internet cafés using “piso-piso” machines.

A “piso-piso” machine allows a person to surf the net for as low as one peso per minute.

PB Member Arleigh Jay Sitoy who authored the resolution said  he observed that most of Internet café clients are minors and can access any website including those which are not suitable for them.

The resolution was approved unanimously during last Monday’s session.
