‘Stop destroying video karera’

The Cebu City Council is asking the police not to destroy confiscated video karera machines because doing so can harm the environment.

These should just be donated to schools which need TV sets for learning purposes, according to a resolution filed by Cebu City Councilor Nida Cabrera, council’s committee of environment chairperson.

Cabrera said that using sledgehammers in destroying illegal gambling machines confiscated in the city has been a common practice, and although the efforts of local authorities are worthy of commendation, their way of destroying them is harmful for the environment.
