LEYLAM Football Club, the official representative of the Philippines in the Football Fives World Championship (F5WC), is optimistic of its chances in the prestigious five-aside football tournament set to start tomorrow in Dubai.

In a farewell dinner hosted by the team last Monday at Cubanas pizza bar, head coach Oliver Colina said they are pumped up for the tournament that features top amateur football teams in the world.

He said they are eager to show the patented “never-say-die” spirit of the Filipinos.

“This is not just for Cebu,” Colina said. “We represent the entire Philippines. So we will do everything we can to meet our objectives in this tournament.”

The team earned a ticket to the worlds after going through several qualifying tournaments.

The team will be composed mostly of Filipino players and will be joined by the team owner Ugur Tasci.

The rest of the team are Alex Buanghog, Ranulfo Colina, Ruffy Llorenta, Carlo Tacusalme, Michael Pacite Ugur and Cem Tasci. Coach Colina will be assisted by Rene Sanchez.

Helping them in strength and conditioning training is  Dr. Rhoel Dejano, who is a renowned rehabilitation medicine specialist.
