LPA seen to cool off Cebu

CEBU may experience cooler weather tomorrow due to  a low pressure area in Eastern and Central Visayas, the Mactan office of the state weather bureau Pagasa said yesterday.

The LPA was located 1,100 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte.

This will bring  light to heavy  rain in Cebu and Bohol from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning tapering to light rain in the evening of Saturday.

Hottest temperature was recoded at 1:45 p.m. yesterday at  32.5 degrees Celsius.

The average for  April  in Cebu is  32.2 degrees.

“For Cebu, it will be a lower temperature starting  April 30 but if the LPA dissipates then expect  above normal temperature,” said Michael Viola, Pagasa Mactan weather analyst.

Last Sunday, the temperature was  registered at 33.6 degrees Celsius.

Viola said the temperature tomorrow may be  32 degree  followed by 31 degrees  on Friday and 30 degrees  on Saturday.

However, Pagasa’s central office said the heat index or how temperature feels like in one’s body will rise close to danger levels on Friday.

The agency advised  people to stay indoors as much as possible.

The heat index is a measure of  human discomfort that gives the “apparent” temperature or what persons perceive or feel as the temperature affecting their body.
