President Benigno Aquino III attended Labor Day activities in Cebu in Mandaue City and met with local officials early today.

More than 100 protestors were supposed to march from San Miguel Corp. to J. Center Mall but they were stopped by policemen as they neared a mall where a JobStart Philippines forum was held.

Mr. Aquino visited the various exhibits and booths held during the forum.

Cabinet secretaries Joel Villanueva, Rene Almendras, Proceso Alcala, Gregory Domingo, Janette Garin, Sonny Coloma, Rosalinda Baldoz, and Mar Roxas joined Aquino.

A closed-door meeting was held with the cabinet secretaries and Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.

The President then proceeded to the University of Cebu Medical Center (UC Med) at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City before attending the inauguration of a new cement mill owned by Apo Cement Corp. at the Cemex Philippines plant in Naga City, southern Cebu.
