BATCH 2007-Chef Chang leaned on the combined forces of Raymark Ong, Alejandro Bayer Jr. and Juan Carlo Espada to torch Batch 2003-Dimsum Frito, 90-71, last Saturday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Ong piled up 24 points, Bayer fired 23 points and Espada finished scored 18 markers. The trio also combined for 20 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 steals as Batch 2007 continued its steady climb up the standings with its eighth win in 12 games.
Joey Catipay exploded for 33 points and also added nine rebounds, two steals and two assists but his efforts went to naught as Batch 2003 succumbed to its 11th loss in 12 games.
Judd Veneracion added 17 markers, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
In the other game, Batch 1998-Kaking pocketed its fifth win in 12 games after it nipped Batch 1995-La Nueva Pharmacy, 74-67.
Eric So led the way for Batch 1998 with 29 points, while Rex Millan contributed 16 markers.
Batch 1995, which dropped to 8-4 (win-loss), was led by Donald Anthony Ting, who tallied 30 points and eight rebounds.
