Murder suspect, three cohorts killed in Barili town shootout

Four men were killed in a shootout with police officers in Barili town, southern Cebu.

The police’s Regional Intelligence Division team was about to serve an arrest warrant on murder suspect John Labrador when their presence was noticed by Labrador and his three cohorts who fired shots at them at Monday dawn.

Labrador was with Joselito Empinado, 37, Julieto Sorono, 19, and Bebot Alcoy, 30 years old.

A gun battle then ensued between the police led by P01 Romeo Sentinta and the suspects in barangay Bugton Kawayan between 1 to 2:15 a.m.

The suspects were wounded during the incident and were brought to Barili District hospital where they died on arrival. No police officer was wounded during the incident.
