Consumers told: Store, use water wisely

May 29,2015 - 03:54 PM

With the water supply declining and water demand rising due to the summer heat, the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) asked their customers to store water.

In their advisory, MCWD asked the residents, schools, lodging houses, boarding houses affected by low water pressure to store water and install cisterns and water tanks.

“MCWD expects an increase in water demand during the peak hours of 5am-10am during the opening of classes. With the daily supply now, it is down by over 23,000 cubic meters per day. Everyone is urged to use water wisely,” Charmaine Rodriguez-Kara, MCWD spokesperson said.

The advisory is issued to all areas affected by the low water production of the Jaclupan facility and Buhisan dam./ Grace Pecaoco
