56 teams vie in Kick for Kathmandu today at CIS

A TOTAL of 56  teams will compete in today’s Kick For Kathmandu football tournament organized by the Cebu International School (CIS) in its football field in barangay Pit-os, Cebu City.

The tournament, which aims to raise funds for the survivors of the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal last month, will feature nine age groups. These are the under-nine, under-11, under-13, under-15 boys, under-18 boys, under-19 girls, inter-company men’s, and men’s and women’s inter-BPO.

All of the proceeds of the tournament will go to the relief fund of Lincoln School in Kathmandu, Nepal.

According to CIS athletic director and Ace Pierra,  the school will also be accepting monetary donation.

CIS will be fielding in six teams in the seven-a-side  tournament as well as  some of Cebu’s top school-based football clubs such as the Don Bosco Technology Center, University of San Carlos and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.
