Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama’s secretary vehemently denied that she sent the solicitation letter that asked for donations of bottled mineral water from commercial establishments.

Belinda Navascues said she cannot remember signing a solicitation letter and was surprised on hearing the report.

She said they don’t need to solicit donations since they already have many sponsors for the mayor’s State of the City Address.

Navascues also said she will order an investigation to clear her name.

Cebu City Councilor Sisinio Andales, who posted the solicitation letter on his Facebook account and reported on it during his privilege speech in last Wednesday’s council session, said he will bring the document to the Philippine National Police (PNP) crime laboratory for verification.
