Rama to deliver city address this Saturday

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will deliver his State of the City Address (SOCA) on July 4, Saturday afternoon at the Plaza Independencia.

The annual address will be held three days later than the inaugural session of the Cebu City Council scheduled on July 1, Wednesday. But Rama said he will still attend the inaugural session and deliver a speech there.

“It’s a different SOCA, actually. It’s a bigger SOCA and it will have to be delivered historically on July 4 and at the Plaza Independencia,” Rama announced to reporters Monday afternoon.

He said he purposefully chose July 4 since he said it’s the original date of the declaration of the Philippine Independence.

He said he will also invite the council to attend his SOCA, his last before his second term ends. City Hall employees will be required to attend.
