TO CAP the celebration of the Environment Month, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) -7 awarded organizations including local government units which contributed in the mission.
DENR chose 16 recipients of the 1st Gawad Tugas award in different fields..
“The Gawad Tugas Award is initiated to seriously take recognition of our partners efforts and sound environmental practices,” said DENR Regional Executive Director Isabelo Montejo.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Marcelo B Fernan Press Center, Monday night.
Among the criteria in coming up with the awardees include 1) advancement, innovations in the country’s environmental mandate; 2) dedication and demonstration of good environmental and sustainability practices beyond normal and functions; 3) environmental leadership as a role model; 4) implementation of projection within the last 12 months
Media organizations including Cebu Daily News were also recognized for its contribution in disseminating information that promotes environmental protection.
