Amidst rumors of being picked up by another party, Talisay City Vice Mayor Romeo Villarante affirmed his loyalty to the yellow banner of the Liberal Party (LP) yesterday.

Villarante visited Gov. Hilario Davide III, the LP Cebu chairman, in his office to dispel doubts that his allegiance has faltered.

The vice mayor revealed that he has been wooed by some parties ever since he announced his bid for the mayoralty in 2016, including the Gullas-run Alayon party and was asked by former governor Emilio Mario “Lito” Osmeña as well.

“There have been offers. There have been initial talks with the Gullases. For now, all of this needs to be prayed for. I believe I need to stick to my principles, even if I lose. I will let the Talisaynons decide,” he said.
