Quake felt in Visayas, Mindanao

A brief quake was felt in Visayas and Mindanao at 2:43 pm, Friday.

The 6.1 magnitude earthquake was located 41 kilometers north of  Burgos, Surigao del Norte and is tectonic in origin.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) registered intensity 3 in Cebu City.

Jorgio Robinson of Phivolcs said they also received reports that the quake was felt in Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Tacloban City.

They recorded Intensity 5 in Surigao City; Siargao Island; Talacogon, Agusan del Sur; Carrascal, Surigao del Sur, Intensity 4 in Dinagat Island, Intensity 3 in San Juan, Southern Leyte; Tacloban, Leyte; Palo, Leyte; Lapulapu City, Cebu City and Intensity 2 in Bislig, Surigao del Sur; Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur; Davao City.
