THREE passersby were injured after a 10-foot fence made of corrugated steel and wood collapsed on them. The strong winds brought about by the southwest monsoon and tropical storm Egay toppled the fence at the City Mall construction site along N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City at 4:30 p.m. yesterday.

Elma Cezar, 61, of A. Lopez St., Cebu City; Elpie Buenabides, 51, of Mandaue City; and Irene Somosot, Elpie’s daughter, of Mambaling, Cebu City, were walking near the fence when it collapsed, said PO1 Artemio Hernandez, desk officer of Carbon Police.

Cezar was wounded in the chin while Buenabides had injuries  in the left leg. Somosot had cuts in her leg.
Police brought the victims to the Cebu City Medical Center for treatment.
