Fire razes 3 houses in Mandaue City

Three houses went up in smoke while one house was damaged when a fire broke out in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City at noontime yesterday.

The houses of Susan Costillas, Ned Villanueva, Engr. Roberto Samio were totally burned while another house owned by Fedilito Mata was partially damaged.

SFO2 Cipriano Codilla, fire investigator of Mandaue Fire Department, revealed that the fire started in Costillas’ house because the ceiling fan in the room overheated.

Costillas said she was downstairs when she noticed  smoke coming from the room on the second floor.

When she checked, the ceiling fan was on fire.

She immediately went down and cried for help.

She also brought her family out of the house.

The fire spread to the the other houses and was placed under control after 23 minutes.

Damage is pegged at P200,000.
