Cebu and most parts of Visayas will experience  cloudy skies and isolated thunderstorms in the next few days.

As of 3 p.m. yesterday, Pagasa Mactan recorded 120.9 millimeters of rain in Cebu for July.

This is below the usual 203 millimeters of rainfall for this month.

But if rains reach 25 millimeters in two hours,  low lying areas and downtown Cebu City will experience floods, said Pagasa Mactan analyst Alfredo Quiblat.

A thunderstorm affected the cities of Cebu, Talisay, Naga, Toledo, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Danao and the towns of Minglanilla, Cordova, Balamban, Asturias, Consolacion, Lilo-ain Compostela, Tuburan, Sogod and Catmon yesterday.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods,” the Pagasa advisory said.
