Cebu’s triathlon poster boy Yuan Chiongbian displayed his racing prowess in the Alaska IronKids, dominating the 13-14 year old race category with a tournament best time of 42 minutes and 50 seconds.

The 2014 Batang Pinoy gold medalist logged in with a time of 7:05 in swimming, and 13:12 in running while placing second in the bike race clocking at 22:35.

“I really had so much fun. I  didn’t expect my performance today because I just came from a race in Singapore last Saturday,” he said.

The 14-year-old Chiongbian, who is hanging up his shoes in the IronKids division, is looking forward to the duathlon in September and the upcoming Youth Olympics.

“My goal is to get faster, win a couple more races and qualify for the Olympics,” Chiongbian said.

Lucian Antonio Alejo, who won the bike race by a fraction of a second over Chiongbian, finished second in the overall rankings with a time of 45:51.

John Caleb Barlin placed third clocking at 45 minutes and 53  seconds.
