Police investigators are looking at three possible motives for the ambush of a police officer in Nivel Hills, barangay Busay, Cebu City last Sunday.

Chief Supt. Prudencio Bañas, director of Police Regional Office Central Visayas (PRO-7),  said the attack may have been related to business, illegal drugs or personal grudge.

PO3 Ramon Bolongaita is recuperating in a hospital. He was shot in his stomach, left shoulder and left side of his body.

Bolongaita was about to park his vehicle near his residence when one of two men on a motorcycle shot him last Sunday.

Bolongaita, a former Mandaue City policeman, is now assigned at the Regional Police Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU) 7.

Supt. Romeo Santander, Cebu City Intelligence  Branch chief, said they already have a description of the gunman.
