Heartline Telemedical Services has established a center in Cebu to offer its digital devices for remote health monitoring.

David Rubin, president and chief executive officer of telemedical device manufacturer Aerotel Medical Systems, said the HeartView P12/8i will allow users to do ECG scans on their own and send the recording to their doctor for analysis.

He said they hope to expand and establish smaller centers in all cities in the Philippines.

“In the next 3 to 5 months we will focus here, and then target the rest of the Philippines,” he said.

Clients who buy the device will be trained on how to use the product, said HeartLine Telemedical sales and marketing manager Jarvis Prochina.

Users will be required to register into their system, which will keep track of the person’s history, previous ECG recordings and other important information.

When in use, the unit will automatically record an ECG scan and send it to the HeartLine Receiving Station through either a mobile application or an acoustic recording via landline phone.

Heartline is open 24/7 at the CFI Building and a doctor mans the receiving station to immediately interpret ECG recordings.

The ECG scan user will receive an advisory from the center if the case is nothing serious, or if the user will need to have a check up with his or her doctor. In worst case scenarios, wherein a user is in danger of having a heart attack, the center can call for an ambulance to the nearest hospital.
