With less than a month before the crucial fight, Daryl Basadre of the Sanman Promotions is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a successful campaign against Cebu City-based and former tormentor Kenny Demecillo in the Brawl at the Mall: Revenge or Revalidation slated Sept. 27 at the Gaisano Atrium Mall in General Santos City.

Basadre, the WBA Youth Bantamweight champion, has been very focused, working doubly hard at the Sanman Gym where he started the second half of his preparations for the highly anticipated ring date with Demecillo.

Basadre lost to Demecillo via a controversial second-round technical knockout last June 7 when referee Ramuel Ovalo deemed the Sanman ward had taken too much punishment.

Sanman top honcho JC Manangquil revealed that his ward has already sparred 56 rounds and is targeting a little over a hundred rounds to prepare for Demecillo, who is likewise in deep training to score a repeat over Basadre.

At stake in the fight is the WBF Asia Bantamweight crown.

“Daryl has sparred with co-Sanman undefeated fighters Marquil Salvania and Mike Plania, who were both amateur standouts. Daryl has been sparring four rounds each with Marquil and Mike and so far he has shown great progress. We are upping his rounds this coming week before we wind down the training,” said the youthful boxing promoter.

Also seeing action in the fighcard are Rinmar Metuda, who will try to win his first international title against Jason Tinampay. The fighters will fight for the WBF International Featherweight championship belt.

Also set to trade leathers are John Vincent Moralde and Jerry Castroverde.

Promoted by Sanman Promotions, the fightcard is supported by Gaisano Atrium Mall Gensan, Mt. Sabrina Resort, San Marino Tuna, Sydney Hotel and is also backed by Dong Secuya’s www.philboxing.com.
