Two Cebu City officials quit for 2016 polls

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama’s executive assistant and former city councilor Joey Daluz  has taken a leave of absence and will resign by October 1 to prepare to run  for councilor in the south district under Team Rama.

Rany Navaro, Cebu City Environment and Natural Resources chief, will also run for south district councilor under the rival Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK).

A week after Rama announced his candidates, Daluz said he would take  a leave of absence from September 1 to 30 and that  his resignation would  take effect on October 1.

Navaro also filed a leave of absence. He said he is waiting for approval of his early retirement.

Jade Ponce, being the CCENRO assistant head will take over from Navaro.
