THE Philippine Navy and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) yesterday joined the search and rescue operation for the three boys who went missing after setting out to fish off barangay Baring, Olango Island last Sunday.

Rescuers, however, returned empty-handed.

Andy Berame of Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer of Lapu-Lapu City said a team from the Philippine Navy joined the search using a patrol boat that scoured the shores of northern towns in Cebu and Camotes islands.

Berame said they are hoping the PAF could still join the search and rescue operations today using a chopper.

A team of policemen from Talima Police Station and volunteers from barangay Baring also helped in the operation.

Rescuers and the boys’ parents are hoping that the missing boys are still alive.
