The Portrait Artists Society of the Philippines Inc. and SM City Cebu will hold a painting exhibit dubbed “Celebration of Faith” to honor the 51st International Eucharistic Congress scheduled in Cebu City on January 2016.

The exhibit “Celebration of Faith” will highlight religious practices in the country, with some paintings showing different processions in churches, Visita Iglesia during Holy Week, fluvial parades, and our very own Sinulog.

A painting of Pope Francis holding a sleeping St. Joseph was given to the Cebu Archdiocese.

The exhibit opened last November 19 at the Art Center of SM City Cebu with Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma.

Highlighting the program was the giving of a painting of Pope Francis holding a sleeping St. Joseph to the Archdiocese of Cebu.

The painting was done by acclaimed Cebuano painter Romulo Galicano. The Archdiocese of Cebu will then hand-over the painting to the representative of Pope Francis during the International Eucharistic Congress.

Part of the proceeds of the artworks will help fund the activities of the International Eucharistic Congress.

“Celebration of Faith” will run until December 6.
