Maribago Blue Water’s project to benefit school, orphanage this Christmas

A resort in Lapu-Lapu City has started its annual charity event that will give gifts to four selected beneficiaries this Christmas.

The annual parol lighting of Maribago Blue Water Beach Resort was launched last Saturday with a ceremonial lighting graced by Mayor Paz Radaza, the resort’s general manager Rhyz Buac and actor Matteo Guidicelli.

Lighted star lanterns were hung all over the resort to mark the start of the resort’s gift-giving project.

Buac said they  selected four beneficiaries this year for the resort’s Yuletide project.

These include the Buyong Elementary School, Hospicio de San Jose in Barili town, an orphanage in Cordova and Task Force Kalikasan of Lapu-Lapu City.

He said it has been their commitment each year to share their blessings with Buyong Elementary School.

He also said that Task Force Kalikasan would be a recipient of a computer set or a laptop for  the organization’s use.

Buac said the funds for the project will be taken from the proceeds of  the Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners at the Allegro Restaurant  and Balay sa Pasko souvenir shop.

After the lantern lighting dubbed as “Walk among the Stars,” Guidicelli performed a song from his debut album “Ipadama Na Lang” under Star Records and whose music videos were taken in Cebu and Maribago Blue Water Resort.

The Canjulao Ukulele Children also performed during the event which drew cheers from the audience which had a fair number of foreign guests among them.
