The trial court has set the arraignment of the wife of Vice Mayor Jonah John Ungab of Ronda town on Feb. 3, 2016.

No postponement will be allowed said Judge Grace Veloso-Fernandez of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities.

Pearl Ungab is facing trial for slight physical injuries for for allegedly hitting lawyer Jiecel Tiu with a baseball bat  in a fit of jealousy last Feb. 6.

Her arraignment was set last month but Tiu’s lawyers asked the court to reset it after they filed an appeal with the  Department of Justice to let Pearl face charges of frustrated murder.

Pearl, who  suspected Tiu of having an affair with her husband,  rammed her car then chased the lawyer  and hit her with a baseball bat in barangay Cogon Ramos last Feb. 26.
