HISTORY will be made in northern Cebu as Daanbantayan plays host to the first annual Cebu Northwest 100 Miles Ultra Marathon competition on Saturday.

The two-day event, which aims to uplift the integrity of ultra marathon in Cebu, will begin at 12:00 midnight at the Municipal Hall of Daanbantayan and will conclude on Sunday at the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City.

Thirty-five qualified ultra marathoners including foreigners Elaine Pang of Singapore and Bryan Kho of Malaysia are set to vie in the race.

No prizes will be at stake but the finishers will not go home empty-handed as they will receive the Suarez & Sons commemorative buckles, medals for the top three finishers in each division, trophies for the top ten overall finishers and a finisher shirt for the runners who cross the finish line.

The event is made possible by Hardcore Events together with their sponsors K1 Sportswear, Powermac Center, Gio Homes, Deco Sales Inc. Runnr Ayala, Fuel Belt, Smart, Titan Surplus and Tinker Marketing.
