Boy found dead in old DPWH office

A 16-year-old boy was found dead, a victim of electrocution in the ceiling of an old building of the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) in Santander town, south Cebu.

His body was found on Sunday morning.

The boy, Francis Jay Nodado Bureros, was believed to have been chasing doves which make their nests in the ceiling of the building.

PO2 Franklin Digao of Santander Police Station said that according to his relatives, Bureros loved to catch doves and gather their eggs.

He knew that several doves make their nests in the old DPWH building.

The local boy was found face down.

His lap showed traces of wire burns.

Police recommended that an autopsy be made to determine the cause of Bureros’ death.
