DILG to issue statement on Rama suspension

Communications Secretary Herminio B. Coloma told Cebu Daily News in a text message that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will issue a statement on Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama’s suspension shortly.

Cebu Daily News was told by official sources that the order was recently signed by the Office of the President and will be served by the regional Department of Interior and Local Government office (DILG-7) in Cebu as soon as a certified copy arrives.

They expect the order to arrive anytime tomorrow or Friday.

The preventive suspension stemmed from the administrative case filed by Labangon barangay chairman Victor Buendia in October last year.

Buendia said he has yet to receive a copy of the suspension order.

He said there is still a pending civil case in the Regional Trial Court which he also filed against Rama.
