A 30-YEAR-OLD soldier was arrested after he was caught in possession of unlicensed  firearms in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.

Pedro Rocososa Ignacio, a member of the Philippine Army assigned in Zamboanga del Sur, failed to prove that the guns seized from his possession were licensed, police said.

The man was arrested after a concerned citizen alerted the Guadalupe police that an armed man was spotted in sitio Englis.

Seized from Ignacio were a .45 caliber pistol, a .22 caliber revolver and a 9mm sub-machine gun.

In barangay Duljo-Fatima, Roser Luarez Ong, 42, was arrested for carrying a .38 caliber revolver last Thursday afternoon.

Police said Duljo-Fatima barangay Captain Elmer Abella sought the help of the police after Ong was seen brandishing a gun.
