Mandaue City Hall, market lots still untitled

TWO lots occupied by the Mandaue City government and the city’s public market have yet to be titled, the city’s real property consultant said yesterday.

Lawyer Carmelita Terez, Mandaue City Hall’s real property consultant said the lots were in the city’s 46 years ago, when Mandaue achieved cityhood status.

Mandaue City Hall occupies a 3,000 square meter lot while the Mandaue City Public Market stands on a 1,000 square meter lot.

Terez said she only knew about this after being appointed this year.

“We need to have it titled. Because it belongs to the city of Mandaue so it has to be titled like the rest of the properties of Mandaue City. But this one (City Hall and Public Market) we were not able to secure,” she said.

Terez said this was not questioned by the Commission on Audit (COA). “We have complied with requirements and it is up to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office to process it,” she said.
