THE 1990 Titans and the 2010 Pioneers booked semifinals tickets in their respective divisions after they came away victorious in their winner-take-all quarterfinal matches in the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Conference Sinulog Homecoming Cup on Saturday at the USC North Campus gym along Mango Avenue.

In Division 1, the 1990 Titans slipped past the 1986 Mighty Geeks, 65-64, behind Eduardo Ranili’s 24 points.

The win pushed the Titans to the Final Four where they will have the unenviable task of facing off against the defending champions 1985 Legends led by former pro Lou Regidor and Bing Pua.

In Division 3, the 2010 Pioneers advanced to the next round after they outclassed the 2006 Fury, 66-56.

Julius Asotigue paced the Pioneers with 21 points. He got ample support from his teammates Jason Catalan, Mike Rita and Ahlen Kikuchi who combined for 31 points.

Waiting for the Pioneers in the semis is the division’s top seed 2008 Flyboys.
