Dennis Trillo and Piolo Pascual share Best Actor award; Bea Alonzo wins Best Actress

DRAMATIC actors Dennis Trillo and Piolo Pascual tied for the Best Actor award in the 32nd Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Movies held Sunday night at Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasig.

According to Pep.ph, Trillo and Pascual were recognized for their roles in “Felix Manalo” and “Silong,” respectively.

Trillo dedicated his award to rumored girlfriend, Jennylyn Mercado. “Sayang wala sya dito,” referring to the actress who was recovering after being hospitalized for losing her voice.

Pascual, on the other hand, dedicated his award for fellow nominees, including John Arcilla.

Bea Alonzo bagged the Best Actress award for the top grossing film “A Second Chance” under Star Cinema.

Alessandra de Rossi won the Best Supporting Actress for “Kid Kulafu” while Tirso Cruz III got the Best Supporting Actor for “Honor Thy Father.”

“Felix Manalo” was named as Movie of the Year while the film’s director, Joel Lamangan was chosen Movie Director of the Year. “Bambanti” was hailed as Indie Movie of the Year.

Former onscreen partners Janella Salvador and Marlo Mortel received the awards for New Movie Actress and New Movie Actor, respectively,  for their horror movie “Haunted Mansion.”

Bela Padilla was the Female Face of the night while John Arcilla was the Male Face of the Night.

The awards night was hosted by Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, Alex Gonzaga, Robi Domingo and Bela Padilla.
