Cebu City tankers add two golds

TEAM CEBU City’s swimming team continued its medal haul in the Philippine National Games, bagging two more gold medals yesterday in San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Apart from the two gold medals the team won in Day 2 of competition, it also added five silvers and three bronze medals. All in all, the Niños now have five golds, eight silvers and five bronze medals in swimming.

Cebuano tankers Nil Enrico Micarsos, Rafael John Dacaldacal, Fritz Tamara and Michael Ichiro Kong topped the men’s 4x50m freestyle relay with a time of 2 minutes and 9.58 seconds.

The ladies quartet of Beth May Arellano, Elvie Salvo, Romylin Nina Ignacio and Trina Caneda timed 2 minutes and 14.82 seconds to top the women’s 4x50m freestyle relay.

TAEKWONDO

Meanwhile, Charles David Labiste snatched the lone gold for Team Cebu City in taekwondo after defeating his opponent from Iligan City in the men’s junior flyweight division.

Nica Garces and Melody Jane Infante trounced their respective rivals to delivered gold medals for Team Cebu Province.
